HP DeskJet 842C will not print color

Just replaced color car.t twice and still cannot print color. Cleaned contacts, etc. and still nothing. HELP PLEASE!

There is most likely a blockage caused by dried-up ink in the printhead (that's the moving carriage which holds the carts).

Remove all the carts.
Remove the printhead.
Soak it overnight in hand-hot soapy water.

Thanks so much. Sorry to be so stupid, but how do I remove the printhead?

Great news! Just received NEW (not reconditioned) color ink cart and the printer works great. The "Real McCoy" ink was expensive but worth every penny. Thanks so much for trying to help me. Merry Christmas!
