Hi,
I need a bit of advice here, I've got a hp envy laptop, been given, Nvidia Geforce graphics, 1trb HDD and 8Ram.

I'm hoping to do some video editing and want to upgrade to SSD harddrive. However I understand that the envy has another designated slot specifically for SSD!
What's the best thing to do here? Can I put say a 500gbt SSD in that slot and run the machine from there and use the 1trb for storage, would that be a good configuration or would it be best to replace the terrabite hard drive altogether with an SSD?

Any ideas as to the best set up for doing a bit of video editing??
Adobe prem pro, + a small amount of after effects!

Thanks for your time, its appreciated!!

Solution
I would go SSD only.
Either way...one or two.

Some people prefer one single drive for everything.
Others (like myself), prefer to keep things compartmentalized.
1 drive for the OS and applications, another drive or 3 for other things.

Completely personal preference.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply here.
The other slot is an m2 or nv(something) slot. It can take both apparently!
Its the long memory card type, looks a bit like a ram stick.
I was wondering about weather to ditch the Hdd as you say or run it along side a 500gbt
SSD M2 card which some have suggested. I think a 1trbt SSD is the way to go though.
Also what is the advantage of having two memory slots anyway??
And if I go for the 1Trbte SSD then would there be much point in putting anyhthing in the
secondary slot??
