im going to buy this computer soon. Im wanting to know what i can upgrade the cpu/gpu to?
i watched a video on youtube and a guy did it went from E2 to a A8

What would i be able to upgrade mine to?
yeah i know its pricey but im wanting to do it for the experience and hands on training

Good theory. You'd have to flash the BIOS with one CPU installed, and then change the CPU and hope it works... Check the different models out to see if here are different BIOS versions, maybe the version you have will support an upgrade...

Speaking from experience, most HP laptop's BIOS restricts you to one CPU supported, even though the particular range might have a choice of several. If I were you I would contact HP and ask them before investing in an expensive replacement that may well not work. It will probably cost you to contact them, though possibly if you pose the question whilst in the Warranty period perhaps not... meanwhile if you're keen on experience and 'hands on training', buy a dead laptop on Ebay and replace the motherboard, plenty HP models with GPU problems, and refurbished motherboards available. (check availability of board before bidding!)

that would be terrible lol i have taken apart a couple hundred laptops so replacing one would be easy affording it is a different matter...contacting HP to speaking with them about the cpu sounds a lot easier than i think it will be..when i call i get poeple troubleshooting from a list of possible problems not knowing much about computers themselves

Had the same experience, have to keep referring back up the line until you get a manager, and even then you'll probably have more experience than them, especially round BIOS problems. I bought several TX2000 motherboards from China, returned 3 before i realised that although the CPU I was fitting was listed in the supported list, the BIOS was locked to only one. But if you have access to someone who can sort that... beyond my capabilities anyway...

It would have to be an HP BIOS, you'll need to find a list of models in that range and look at each one in turn to check the various BIOS download versions.
