[SOLVED] HP Laptop G61 Windows 10 Installation

Hi Guys

Client dropped of a HP G61 Laptop Dual Core, 4gb DDR2.

He wants me to install Windows 10 on it.

So the USB Boot does not work. Not picking up.

Installing win10 on another pc with the Hdd usually always works just this time the laptop gives me an error no bootable device - insert boot disk and press any key.

It used to run windows 7 quite fine.

Any suggestions?

That system may not be able to use an USB boot install. I would burn a dvd install disk.

For win10 I would if possible upgrade the system ram to 8gb. Its a due core not going to be very fast anyway.

So I managed to do it with Rufus. Making the flash drive a MBR instead of the default GPT and use Target as both UEFI and BIOS.

Just for future reference: Rufus isn't necessary. The Windows 10 Media Creation Tool is capable of setting up the flash drive or DVD. From there, the target storage drive needs to be a GPT disk and UEFI needs to be enabled.
