Question HP laptop screen shows artefacts when moving the lid ?

Hi there, title pretty much sums it up.
Lately when opening and closing my laptop lid I have noticed parts of the screen flickering white as if it's a loose scart cable at the back of an old tv and was wondering what the cause could be and whether or not I could fix it. I've never replaced a laptop screen before but I'm generally quite good at swapping out internals and fiddling about with tech anyways so I don't think that should be a problem, I just don't know if it's the screen itself or some sort of connector?

I don't think it's software related as I've tried updating the drivers and such and it happens in any kind of application regardless of how many programs are running, I haven't hit or bumped the screen or laptop as far as I can remember.

The Only things I can think of that might be the issue are the hingers or the screen itself. This does seem to look like an older model laptop, meaning manufacturers didn't care as much about some things as they do now like hinges. Laptops either use magnets or a small thin wire to bring display onto the screen. Maybe when you open and close the lid the wire feels pressure or something and you experience some data loss. My second theory is that since it does look like to be an older model laptop, the screen and panel are lower quality or poorly engineered. Even the slightest pressure on the lid might mess stuff up with the screen panel causing it to artifact and experience data loss. These are all speculation but I believe most likely might be the issue.

I don't think it's pressure, I can flex the screen (within reason) without data loss and pressing into the panel gently around the edges and on the screen itself doesn't replicate the issue either, I remember this being the number one thing I noticed when looking for videos of people with my issue. It only has the artefacts when I use the hinges to move the screen so I get the feeling it's just the cable either sitting loose or needing replacement all together and thankfully the screen connectors on the mainboard and the screen itself are placed quite simply and not too hard to get to. The only thing that I'm not too sure about now is how universal the screen cables are between hp pavilion series laptops.
I've seen plenty of reasonably priced lcd cables on ebay for the 15-au model, which is the closest in terms of model to my model the 15-bc series, I can't imagine they are really that different seeing as the replacement screens themselves seem pretty universal across hp pavillion 15's.
