Hello there, i have one problem with that printer. Yesterday, i´ve bought cartridges, 940xls, put them into, removed sheets from air intakes, and tried to turn it on. But, printer says, that all cartridges are incompatible and after some secs it´ll turn off... Can you help me with this please ?

Did you buy genuine HP cartridges or third party products?

Who sold you the cartridges? Are the cartridges refills?

Do you have another printer available to try the cartridges in? Or an orginal HP cartridge to try.

Need to determine if it is the cartridges or the printer mis-reading the cartridge.

Third party, from eshop, i don´t have another cartridges... Already tried full restart, but nothing, when it loads, after some secs it just turns off...

What warranties, if any, are offered by eshop?

You might be able to do a web search for compliants, etc. about their products.

Pretty much need a way to determine if the problem is the cartridge or the printer. Can you risk the purchase of a real HP cartridge?

Or try the third party cartridge in another HP OfficeJet 8500?

Nah, i think that i won´t invest anymore... Because i had enough of HP trash... All time, i got problems with HP. I had a lot of HP printers, but everyone from them was bad, like, by these things, they´ve got broken by month or even less, and i think that i´ll buy Canon or other brand, because i´m starting to hate HP. Why even they want original cartridges that costs 90€s ? Heh, i think that i´ve found the solution, going to Canon or Xerox...

Agree, there is a time to just go ahead and take the hit....

And in that case "will share".

I moved from HP to Canon a few years back - pretty much for the same reasons.

Fortunately I live in an area where I can go and actually look at the printers/multifunctions on the store floor.

Go and look hands on if at all possible. Some products are just downright flimsy and cheap.

Also go online for for current reviews and check the manufacturer's websites for FAQs, forum questions, etc.. Read the online User Guides/Manuals.

What they do not say is almost as important as what they do say.
