How do I connect my hp pavilion a1600n to my 50" flat screen TV that has USB, HDMI, or PC connections

I'm also trying to connect my HP Pavilion a1600n to my flat screen TV with the same inputs. I connected a SGVA and audio cables as you recommended. Are there additional instructions (after plugging them in) that you or anyone else out there can offer?
