Replaced Gen3 Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1Tb drive with this Gen4 Crucial drive since my new build supports Gen4 & Gen5. Figured it would move video files around faster. Using it as a secondary data drive. Put the new drive in the same slot that the old one was in.
As a test before switching, Wrote / copied a 70 GB file to the Samsung and it took 3 minutes 4 seconds. Switched to the Crucial and did the same test, and much to my surprise, it was slower...way slower. It took 10 minutes 21 seconds.
Going to return it and try a different drive. Does anyone have "real world" experience with a drive that has a better sustained write rate??? I don't fully trust the test sites on the web. Thanks in advance.
