Question HP Z600 modding

Hi, so i have this hp z600 lying around I thought I would try and mod it (note - im not that great of a modder just trying to waste time and have fun). I plan on adding 2 x5675, and a gtx 1060 6gb at minimum. I already got 48gb of ram so that's good. Im trying to case swap this pc and add some rgb as well, but im wondering how do you remove the mobo from the case. I've tried multiple times, but I just can't remove it, what am I doing wrong??

It doesn't matter. All of the Z600 workstations release the board the same way from what I've seen. Start at the beginning of the guide in the manual for removing the board and then click the arrow to go to the next page after you've completed the steps listed on that page. For the latches, I'm really not sure what you mean about horizontal vs vertical. That really has nothing to do with anything. Simply slide the lock out so that it releases the board and move to the next step.

I did everything it said, however on the part where you should move the latches mine won't budge, and feeling on what part that I can lift up, only the bottom will go up - the top is stuck even tho all screws and gone

once again sry for the late response Ok I just did that and I see what you mean. I removed the mobo but now I wanna talk bout the connectors. Is the cpu connector the same 8 pin connector as in a regular atx psu. And is the ram 6 pin connector the same as a gpu 6 pin - the fitting is the same.
 
There aren't any "RAM" connectors on any motherboard that I am aware of so either that is something proprietary or limited to server and workstation boards. Unfortunately that is an area where I have limited experience and I gotta admit it so I'll look to call in some help on this one.

I think hes referring to the 6 pin next to the RAM, but that connector is just another power connector, and has nothing to do with the Ram.

@pawncakes you cannot just plug a normal PSU into this motherboard. That connector is NOT a "GPU" connector. If you'd like to use an aftermarket PSU you will need to purchase an adapter like this:

DO NOT try to adapt this yourself or use existing plugs from your aftermarket PSU, unless you want to ruin the board, PSU, or both. Now as for the 8 pin CPU connector, that should work with the CPU connector from your aftermarket PSU.
 
Yeah, that's pretty much my thought too but I didn't want to simply say that was the deal because I wasn't totally sure. Well, I was, but getting a little confirmation on a system you're not really familiar with is a good thing. And I'm really familiar with a lot of systems but only have a small amount of familiarity with some of the dual CPU server and workstation boards. So, thanks for throwing in on this discussion man.

Yes I could see it clearly in the other pic. I don't care if the plug fits do NOT use a 6 pin GPU plug in there.

You need to use the adapter set I linked, which you need anyway since a normal PSU 24 pin cable won't connect to the 18pin PSU plug on the motherboard.
 
Right, but as mentioned, that connector is proprietary, meaning there is not going to be a connector on any standard ATX power supply that is designed to be plugged into that socket, almost certainly. If you look at the "keying" of each of the pin receptacles in the socket you will see that each of them is a specific shape and not only do the shapes of each of the individual pin housings on the connector that plugs into that socket have to match each of the receptacles on the socket but the pinout for voltage and ground must be the same as well.

This is the problem with MANY HP, Dell, Lenovo and other prebuilt systems from OEM manufacturers because on both their consumer and enterprise machines there is a propensity for using proprietary hardware.

I wouldn't be surprised if a 6 pin PCIe connector fit in there. Its probably keyed the same. Now of course as you know the wiring is likely totally different. But I would not be shocked if it plugged in.

lastly I also want to talk bout the 8 pin cpu connector, is that the same or would I need to buy an adapter for it?
