This is HP's second biggest blunder, first one being when they failed to recognize Steve Wozniak's invention....look how much it cost them in the long run
HP, to me, has always been a corporate wanna be, first they wanted to copy IBM in the enterprise segment, now they wanted to copy Apple in the consumer segment.
And i believe that MICROSOFT WINDOWS is slowly killing(stagnating) the PC market(for hardware manufacturers)......think about it.....all pc brands pre-install windows, for casual/business users its all the same.....there is no differentiation between the brands....M$ is actually killing innovation
Linux would give you differentiation, but no one has the balls to go for it......u dont even have to develop it urself.....just go with ubuntu(this blog was written from ubuntu 11.04)
Nokia also made a similarly big blunder by dumping Meego for WP7. I personally use a Dell Venue Pro, its an ok phone(I bought it for the form factor not the OS), but even I'd admit that Meego was head and shoulders above the others in terms of capabilities.
