I recently installed a 212 evo onto a 2500k on a asrock motherboard. Everything went smooth with the install until i got to putting on the heatsink/crossbar bracket step. It took some pressure on the bracket to get the 4 screws all into the standoff bolts. I realize now i probably should have loosened the center pressure screw in center of the cross bracket before trying to tighten the other 4 screws in the bracket, but being my first heatsink install i didn't know any better. I went into bios and all the idle temp seems to be a cool 35c. My question is as follows.
Is there too much pressure one can put on the cpu from the heatsink, or is the hyper212evo bracket safeguarded against this? I loosened the bracket center pressure screw a bit since then, but the heatsink still does not rotate or budge at all. Should I reinstall the heatsink or is this fine? Last thing I want is damage to my cpu.

ps, windows isn't installed yet so i haven't really used the cpu at all.

Solution
As long as the cooler is secured you're fine.
And yes as you found out the center pressure thumbscrew is secured last.
You're probably fine imo.
Monitor your temps with Coretemp.

Sorry bout the delay. Got windows up and running and have been playing TF2 on the IGP its pretty good. Anyways, downloaded coretemp, temps seem great. I mighta did an excellent job with the heatsink after all. Web browses around 25c, max temp after 10mins of prime95 was at 45c.
