I am confused about the fx-8350

Hello! I am pretty confused about this seeing as this is my first pc build. I really wanted to get a gtx 760 as my graphics card. However, I am stuck deciding between the fx-8350 and the intel i5 4670k. I know most people would automatically say to go for the i5, but is it actually worth it? I can get a bundle with the fx and a motherboard for about 210-230 where as the i5 with a motherboard would cost at least 275. Would there be that much of a performance difference with this cpu to justify its price? Thanks!

Take a look at benchmarks for the 8350 vs 4670k in some games you plan on playing. If the savings are worth the fps to you, than go with the 8350.

The i5 will always give you the best performance, AMD may or may not perform to your expectations depending on the game (whether or not it utilizes more than 4 cores) the 8350 is by no means a bad CPU but you can't go wrong with the i5.

Just my two cents coming from some one who has used both AMD and intel processors.

i5 has superior single core singe threaded performance over amd cpus, unless you use graphical app/editing(notgames) then go with the i5
here is a bench that has a 3570k on it (4670k is 5% better in gaming than the 3570k)

For gaming it's worth it, for encoding and video editing the fx has the edge.

You can get good motherboard with z87 chipset for about 100-150
