I am paying for 150 mbps download speed, but for steam and other services it is capping at around 1.2mbps

when downloading steam games it is extremely slow and goes at about 1.2mbps. While watching task manager is says I am maxing out network with about 10 mbps. I am using ethernet and on my other computer it runs at about 25mbps.

Its 100mbps, not 150 though according to your isp.

Do a speedtest, www.speedtest.net

That should show what speeds your cable actually is.

Steam servers and sites you download from will vary in speeds, not always will you get full amount. It all depends how good their bandwidth is and how much they or their servers can give you.

uhh i just started downloading a steam game to test and it started at 5 and rapidly went to 0 I lost total connection to the internet, and now i am stuck at 1.2...
its like right after my pc restarts its fast and then it goes down after use??

I did the speed test during the terrible download and it says 2 mbps and 5 mbps upload and double the ping...

i did the test by ookla on my phone and recieved 100 download 13 upload

Reboot the router
