Hey guys, see title^. Any help is much appreciated!

Total budget and country of purchase:

USA, ~$1700.

* Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply.

I do not want a 2 in 1, battery life and best specs for money matters most.

* How important is weight and thinness to you?

Weight and thinness is plus, but its not extremely important.

* Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux.

I prefer the windows OS.

* Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.

I prefer a 15 inch laptop.

* Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.

I will likely be using CAD through AutoCad or Inventor, but not much photo or video editing. I have a separate gaming PC.

* If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?

N/A

* Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?

Touch screen is something I don't really care about and will not be using (as I also do not want a 2 in 1). I care about reliable build quality. My top 2 priorities are a Keyboard and Trackpad. I would also love to have USBC charging and ports.

* Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.

I have an existing gaming PC with much higher specs. I am looking for a laptop to complement this. So far my top choice is the Dell XPS 15.

Thanks so much for any help, its much appreciated.

Note: I also need 16GB ram and 256 GB storage(preferably SSD)

Look at Dell, HP and Lenovo laptops. You want one that comes with an SSD and at least 8 GB of RAM more is better

If you don’t need a gaming laptop just get a good fast one with an SSD and enough memory and look at all the models that you can afford
