I just purchased an Alienware M16 R1 gaming laptop from Best Buy. It is configured as follows: Core i9 13900HX, RTX 4080 and 16Gb 5600MHZ ram. I am attempting to install 64GB of 5200MHZ ram which according to the Setup and Specifications guide found on the support page for this laptop, it supports 64GB of 5200MHZ ram.
However, after installing the new ram I purchased, the power button flashes red twice and then blue four times and will never even post. I've tried using only one module at a time and the same thing. I did only try the one module in DIMM slot 1. Right now I am typing this from the laptop with the original ram it was shipped with. Is there anything I'm missing? I've upgraded ram in laptops before with no issues. Of course Dell says the ram is defective (no they haven't tested it nor has anyone else). Any help would be appreciated.
