Question i cant instal 4gb ram module on my laptop eventhough it can

i try to change the old 2gb ram module with the new 4gb ram module and ended with never ending boot. i know my laptop can handle the ram module up to 4gb,i've once adding the ram memory with 4gb ram but with technician helps. This is my first try. little backstory the original ram memory was 1 gb ddr3 and several years later after the adding of 4gb ram that've mentioned before i dropped the laptop so hard to floor and it need to go to the technician to get repaired. after the repair i discovered that the technician replacing the ram module with 2gb DDR3L which is not the same type as the original one. is there any solution so my laptop can takes the 4gb ram module?
my laptop is Acer Aspire 4738Z

Not all memory modules are equal, you have to consult the manual, with Acer web page as to the specifications of the ram it will accept.

If u don't want to think about it, go Crucial.com, punch in your make/model, and BAM! they will tell u what exactly to purchase.
