Question I damaged my CPU and it still works fine is this normal?

about a year before this happened I got AMD's Ryzen 5 3600 the next year I was going to replace the stock cooler with non custom liquid cooling. I removed the fan but we used really bad thermal paste i didint know that it worked fin for cooling but it dried out and stuck on the the cpu i didint know that it was stuck i pulled it out and i lost 5 pins and 10 were bent i fixed the bent pins kinda sad attached the cooler turned it on and I was shocked that it still worked fine all the cores where fine and so were the built in graphic's and ( I don't use them normally but I tested) it was completely fine is this normal or am I missing something I haven't noticed?

Not every pin in a socket is used for something or they're redundant. You may have gotten lucky with which pins were broken.

Generally speaking, it's a good idea to keep some dental floss or fishing line handy; you can kind of "floss" between the CPU and heatsink to unstick them.

i just checked it was a Ryzen 5 5600 6 core(I know it doesn't matter but still)
