I get a critical message when starting a game. How do i fix it?

I have Alpine ski racing 2007 game. When I try to play I get this message:

Critical error - ..\..\Base\SkiAlpinRacing_2007_PC\_startpc.cpp (13754) : Assertion

How can I fix it?

Is the game compatible with Windows 7? I have a game (Oblivion XP version) I can not play because its not compatible.

If the game is compatible try right click, and running as administrator.
(There are two ways to accomplish this)
1. Right click game icon > run as administrator
2. Right click game icon > properties > Compatibility tab > Under heading 'Privilege Level' > tick Run this program as an administrator.

If the game is not compatible you can run in Compatibility mode
Right click game icon > properties > Compatibility tab > Under heading 'Compatibility mode' > tick Run this program in compatibility mode for: > and select the OS that best fits its criteria.

Uninstall and Reinstall the application

Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove

You can also try a repair from 'Add/Remove' if you installed with a CD/DVD then you need to insert the software in your optical drive before you try the above suggestion.
