Hello,
I have an i5-6600K with a GTX 1070 G1 Gaming.
Motherboard; Gigabyte Z170-HD3P
Monitor; Samsung S20B300 1600x900 60Hz

Playing games like Battlefield 1, GTA V, and couple others on high-ultra settings I get 60fps with LOTS of drop-frames. Locking onto 60 and suddenly drops to 58 - 56 - 45 - 40fps..
It's really frustrating.

My CPU temperatures go from 60 - 80 under load depends on what I'm doing.
The CPU is not overclocked. I use the factory settings.

I play on DirectX11.

is it because of my 900p monitor? What do I do?
It's driving me insane to be honest.

Thanks!

I have sort of the same problem. To start with a really logic solution: Drivers up to date? (;
It is most...

while playing my CPU usage goes around 50 - 95% it just keeps going up and down. Highest I saw was probably 95%.
The thing is, I have 8GB ram, and Battlefield 1 takes like 4GB ram usage.. could that be the case too?

I have an Antec 500W PSU. Do I need 600Watts?

It is most likely not your CPU. I have an i5 4460. Yours is way better so that shouldn't cause the problem.
But it might be Windows. There was an update which ruined gaming. But still after there was an update what fixed it kinda for me, frame drops are still there.

GTA V is an exception. That game is just really, really heavy and it's not weird that you have frame drops in that game. I have it too, probably everyone is having that, that it sometimes drops to around 44 fps in GTA V.

Your monitor is most likely not causing this problem. 500W PSU is probably fine. How much RAM do you have?

But still, I know your pain. It is really annoying, realising you have paid a lot of money for a really good PC, especially your GPU, and still having frame drops/ lag spikes.

Try to update all drivers. Windows update. Change a little bit in-game settings and see if that changes something. If you have some money left, buy a 1080p monitor. It's better (; .
