Check output from the console to make sure it's HDMI (and might try a different cable) - also make sure the monitor is set to take input from proper HDMI (especially if it's a TV or has multiple HDMI input ports that are selectable)
Were you using same resolution before and did you use hdmi for output. Try and reset video settings by holding power button and eject button down for 15 seconds
I have reset the video options by holding down the power button a ton of times.I have tried using different hdmi cables.
I also set it to output on hdmi but still no luck.
p.s its not a faulty monitor because when i connect my laptop with it thru HDMI it works fine and its also HDCP compliant.

Yes i have already seen this video and im doing everything right.
but unlike this video im not using an HDMI to DVI converter because my monitor has an HDMI port so i plug the HDMI cable directly into that port.
well one last thing i can think of is to make sure you run the latest system software or firmware driver. it could be called an compatability issue afterall!
I have never used this HDMI port before i tried using it for the first time.Im pretty sure its not damaged but its just dirty and the connectors arent functioning properly.Any advice on how to clean up ?
