I got montor problem. Please help me!!!

I got Samsung Syncmaster 225MW. Yesterday I turned off PC for like 1 hour, then came back, turned PC on, and my monitor only showed screen for like 1/2 seconds. I tried to turn it on and off over and over but still didn't work. I also tried to turn monitor on without connecting it into the pc, still didn't work. So what I ask you for, is a help to fix this. I don't wanna buy new monitor or pay for a service repair. Please help me!!!

Try some simple things like
Unplug and replug all the cables, at both ends.
If you have access to another computer, attach the monitor to it. Does it work on that computer?
Use the on-screen menu to make sure that the correct input is selected - if that got switched, then it is basically ignoring your computer.

If it displays an image for a second and then turns off, it could be the backlight.

Questions:
1. How is your PC connected to the monitor? What type of cable?
2. Is the monitor new?

For #1, check that the cable is good. If you have an extra, swap it out and test. A digital connection will either be black or working. There is not in-between (fuzz or static).

1. DVI Cable.
2. Monitor is 7 years old.

And cables are good. I tried to swap wtih other extra cables still the same case.

I have already tried things like that, changed PCs, everything same.

Sounds like a bad monitor then.
