I Hate Adapters

Hello good people,

Possible to make an Ethernet cable with a USB at one end? Not an adapter-hate those things!! There has to be an alternative to them

You would have to build the network components into the cable somehow. I don't see that happening. The adapter is necessary to provide the needed functionality.
