I Have a huge problem with sound on windows 7 (Intel D865PERL)

I can't seem to get the sound working.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate
An Intel D865PERL motherboard chipset
Windows detects my audio-card as an SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio

I do not get any error messages, and everything seems fine, but there is no sound!
Have anybody got the same problem, and hopefully an solution?
i have tried to download numerous different drivers but there are no drivers for windows 7 as i have found, i also chatted with an support techinchan at intel, but he only said that they do not support windows 7, not much help there...

You can't expect Intel to provide Windows 7 drivers for such an old motherboard (7 years old).

Since it uses an AD1985 sound controller, you may be interested in the solution described at http://www.sevenforums.com/sound-audio/3390-soundmax-ad-1985-a.html

SOLUTION, worked for me anyways:

downloaded this drivers

http://www.realtek.com.tw/Downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=23&PFid=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown

and then instead of using the normal "green" outlet i plugged the cable into one of the "black" ones, and tada!

I do not expect them to provide windows 7 drivers, but they could atleast point me in the right direction for the solution...

It would be nice if they did, but you're using an OS that isn't officially supported on that motherboard.

According to Intel's website, Intel Desktop Board D865PERL does not offer support for Windows 7. Please copy and paste the link below in your web browser:

My suggestion is upgrade your motherboard to resolve this issue.
