I am back with another puzzle.

I have 2 graphics cards on me right now. My brother gave me his old one.

AMD Sapphire 6950

Nvidia

Which is better?
I notice one is 1 GB vs the other is 2GB but does that necessarily make it better. I am only one running one, no crossover or SLI.

Thanks!

Yeah the 6950 is a tad bit better than the 560 Ti. Here is a bench mark to show you what games are better or worse between the the cards. Since I like nVidia I would get the 560 Ti.

The 560 Ti brings a few extra stuff to the table but not for gaming. But the war between the two cards will live on. Bottom line the 6950 beats the 560 Ti more times then the 560 Ti beats the 6950.

I think the 560 Ti cheaper than the 6950 right now if you had to buy one for SLI or CrossFire.. I also herd that the AMD drivers are funkey as where the nVidia drivers are more stable.Hope this helps and Good luck to you.

Yeah, the only advantages the 560Ti has are CUDA support, which is only important for certain productivity applications, and GPU accelerated PhysX, which is only supported by a handful of titles. Unless you plan on playing a lot of the PhysX enabled games, or a lot of games that heavily favour nvidia, you're probably best off with the 6950.

Depends on which 560 TI your talking about Look at the non-reference 560 Ti designs, factory OC'd to 900 Mhz. Among them you will find several models that have upgrade dPCB's and beefed up VRMs. The ones w/ 7 phases or more and the special coolers have been known to top 30% overclocks over the reference card speed.

And make no mistake about these cards they are straight little beasts!
Some to consider ...

MSI Hawk (950Mhz - 9 phase VRM)

Asus DCII Cu TOP (900Mhz - 7 phase VRM)

Gigabyte OC (900Mhz - 7 phase VRM)

He's not looking to buy a card. The OP has both cards lying around, he's asking which one to use. The 560Ti he does have, appears to be a lower end model. So it won't have all those fancy enhancements that facilitate higher overclocks. As such, the 6950 is probably the better overall performer, unless the OP wants to play a lot of games that heavily favour nvidia cards.

Yeah, i just noticed my bad :pfff: go with the 6950 i agree ;)
