Those two things are unrelated and will not conflict with each other.

Whether things will run smoothly is an issue with the whole system, not just the type of RAM.

dont worry about it, gddr5 on your gpu isn't the same thing as ddr3 on your motherboard. also, its Gddr5. you can run gddr6 on a ddr2 motherboard, problem is the cpu on the motherboard will bottleneck the gpu

I'm about to have the exact same thing, DDR5 Nvidia GTX 1050 on a PCIE 3 DDR3 motherboard. And I'm just curious, what differences are in terms of performance? Will the GPU show less potential then what would be with DDR5 motherboard?
