[SOLVED] I have intel dual core processor.. how can i know whether it is 32 bit or 64 bit?

Solution
Check your CPU type with something like /CPU-Z, this will tell you whether your current CPU supports 64-bit.

Byt - why you would need 64-bit? Do you have application which needs more than 4gb of RAM?

I want to run Windows 8.1... Can I run Windows 8.1 with my config of 1gb RAM 1.6GHz speed Intel dual core processor.???

Thanks for UR advice..:)

Open CPU-Z, on the first tab you'l see a field "Instructions". If there's a mention of "64", your CPU is capable of running 64-bit Windows. This is a screenshot of my aging laptop.

In fact, if your computer is less than 10 years old, there are good chances it can run 64-bit windows. In order to fully utilize it, put more than 4gb of RAM.
