I installed a new 6TB WD HDD, now my PC restarts on shutdown?

Hey guys, I bought a Red 6TB WD HDD as an addition to my PC. I already had windows on a 500GB SSD + another 2 TB HDD. I installed this new 6TB HDD, and now when I shut down my PC, it automatically reboots. I have no idea on what to do, please help.

Hey there, pf1235.

Sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing. Have you tried if this problem persists when you disconnect the drive? I'd also suggest that you try the drive with a different computer if possible, or at least different SATA cable and port on yours, to see if the same thing happens again. It sounds like a pretty unusual behavior. I'd recommend that you download DLG (Data Lifeguard Diagnostics) and run both tests on the drive (Quick and Extended) to see if anything unusual pops-up. Also make sure that the drive is using GPT and not MBR.

What OS are you using? I had this issue and had to repartition the 6tb drive down to 2tb partitions before the pc would work right. Windows 7 64bit was my OS.
