I bought a new PSU [corsair CX 650M] to power my new gpu, I was plugging my stuff in and when it didn’t work I started to play around with it, I had it connected to the Sata cables by it self and it caught fire, caught it off before it could do any harm but now I’m down two Sata cables and I want to know if I should bring it back and tell them something is wrong

Yes.
Modular PSU cables are NOT interchangeable.

Seems like you've irretriveably cooked several parts.
It is almost certainly not only the cables.
And my dad say they could 😭😭
But I looked at everything at my pc they all seem fine at the Momment when I get new Sata cables tomorrow I. Hope my HDD and ssd is doing fine

Did you attempt to connect these things while the power was on?

Even if not...multiple other things could be cooked.
Motherboard ports, drives, etc.

That SATA data cable is not directly affected by the PSU.
But, that might indicate a major fail within the motherboard.

that is a SATA power cable.

SATA data cables only run from the disk to the motherboard.
Ohh sorry I’m new to this :(

Power was off, turned it off unplugged it then turned it back on, I tested after all this happen on my old PSU to see if will run the same w/o Sata cables and it was running normally

while it would have to be a power cable to be connected to the power supply,
in this image the cable itself appears to be the standard flat data cable.
but the connector appears a bit larger like a power connector.

which was it?
connected directly from the disk to the motherboard
or directly from the disk to the power supply?

oops, yeah...that IS the SATA power cable. The viewing angle was wrong.

Again.....Modular cables can ONLY work with the PSU they came with.

Maybe only that cable is cooked, maybe the drive(s) as well.
Yea I’m hoping to get new ones tomorrow to see if there cooked or not , hoping not cause I have a lot of things to redownlosd if so :(

Disk to motherboard the coord burnt at the drive not the motherboard
