Solution alexoiu Apr 9, 2016 http://www.pcstats.com/articleimages/200504/hddinstall_idesata.jpg for differences between SATA and IDE. Even if the old drive has Windows 7 on it, if the 1st boot device is the new HDD, the system will boot from it and the old HDD can be used as a data HDD.
