Question I keep getting the same software-indicative blue screen codes whenever I edit intensive videos in davinci resolve.

The error code I get is dxgmms2.sys
  • I've reinstalled drivers.
  • I've disabled windows auto-drivers install and installed the most up-to-date nvidia drivers.
  • I've used DDU in safe mode to uninstall drivers
  • I've used dxdiag & used windows memory diagnostics
  • I've used SFC/DSIM
  • I've fully reset this computer 3 times

I'm just at a complete lose at this point. It doesn't seem to be a hardware issue.

I can run the same davinci project timeline on my laptop, granted slower in some areas, but I don't get the blue screen during those intensive visual effects peaks.

Try the gpu benchmark/stress test using the download link below...interested to see if it crashes. Make sute its DX not Open GL
https://benchmark.unigine.com/heaven

Also, have you upgraded the motherboard bios to the latest version, as well as the ssd firmware if available?
And download and re-install direct x as Administrator by right-click menu.

In addition to the above excellent advice, you might want to download the SysnativeBSODCollectionApp and save it to the Desktop. Then run it and upload the resulting zip file to a cloud service with a link to it here. The SysnativeBSODCollectionApp collects all the troubleshooting data we're likely to need. It DOES NOT collect any personally identifying data. It's used by several highly respected Windows help forums (including this one). I'm a senior BSOD analyst on the Sysnative forum where this tool came from, so I know it to be safe.

You can of course look at what's in the zip file before you upload it, most of the files are txt files. Please don't change or delete anything though. If you want a description of what each file contains you'll find that here.
