Hi all. I have never built a PC before but I have bought the following (as suggested for trading) and am going to put it together myself. I will use online vid’s as my guide and any useful ideas/ hints will be much appreciated.

My main question is what cooling fan would I need for the set up and are there any additional leads I will need that would not have come with the bits I’ve bought?

Intel Core i7-8700 4.60ghz
MSI B360M MORTAR
Ballistix Elite 8GB DDR4 2666MHz
Samsung 960 EVO 500GB NVMe M.2 SSD
NVidia Quadro P600
NZXT S340 Mid Tower Case
Antec VP-450 Power Supply LG 27UD68-P 27” Monitor

Any help will be much appreciated,
Charlie.

Jeeesuz Christ this is a mission! It’s taken me soooo long to get to where I reckon I might be half way. There is so much to read and some of the manuals don’t have the best English in. I’m gonna eat some pasta with cheese, take a little break and then push forth... again

Would have been so much easier vMax I do admit but I’m in East Grinstead which is in West Sussex buddy.

So I’ve got a usb3 port on the M board that won’t fit the cable in the nzxt 340 box but the usb 3 lead in the cab will fit into the usb2 port on the M board. Will that work and will the usb2 port on the M board provide what the usb3 lead needs?

Okay you have confused me...please explain. Do you mean that you have a USB 3 cable that is attached to the NZXT case for the USB ports on the case and you want to attach it to the motherboard but the motherboard only has a USB 2 internal port?

I have looked at a Pic of your motherboard and it does have a USB 3 header on the right side just above the SATA ports and a USB 2 header at the bottom of the motherboard...is that what you are talking about? You should be able to attach the USB 2 and 3 front case ports to the internal motherboard headers...

You cannot fit a USB 3 front port case cable to a USB 2 header on the motherboard as they are a different design on the motherboard. The USB 3 connector built into the motherboard is a bit longer than the USB 2 connector on the motherboard.

Happiness and Joy!!!! you got there in the end. I just think you need to reset the router and then it should pick it up. Also have you installed the Network Adaptor driver? You can also go to 'open network & internet settings' and trouble shoot which tends to rest everything...
