Well... I posted a few days ago that my KG7-RAID mobo died, and I had an important RAID0 stripe hanging in the balance...

Well, I bought a new motherboard, (same model and make.) I'm hapy to say that it recognizes the stripe when it boots, but it never makes it into Windows.

Every time I boot, no matter what I do, I get a blue *** STOP screen.

It says
"*** STOP: (0x00010003,.........)
The ACPI BIOS in this system is not fully compliant with the ACPI specification. Please read the README.TXT for possible workarounds. You can also contact your system's manufacturer for an updated BIOS, or visit http://www.hardware-update.com to see if a new BIOS is available.

The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your system vendor or visit http://www.hardware-update.com for an updated BIOS. If you are unable to obtain an updated BIOS or the latest BIOS supplied by your vendor is not ACPI compliant, you can turn off ACPI mode during text mode setup. To do this, simply press the F7 key when you are prompted to install storage drivers. The system will not notify you that the F7 key was pressed - it will silently disable ACPI and allow you to continue your installation.

I've updated the BIOS to the newest version for the card, and even bought a new harddrive thinking that it might be the problem. All to no avail... 🙁 I haven't been able to work for almost a week now......help...

I think just a re-install over the existing 2K installation should fix it, without losing anything.

Also, here are a few MS KB articles:

You can also refer to the ACPI BIOS lists at the following Microsoft Web site:

It's always the one thing you never suspected.

I didn't work. 🙁 I even bought a brand new hard drive, and installed windows to that, and it STILL didn't work.

Anyone have any other ideas? 🙁

Check this out:

I don't think just reinstalling the OS is sufficient. It sounds like you need to manually install the Standard PC hardware abstraction layer (HAL):

1) Restart the computer to restart Setup.

2) When Setup starts again, press F7 (not F6) when you see the "Press F6 if you need to install a third-party SCSI or RAID driver" screen.

3)Windows automatically disables the installation of the ACPI HAL and installs the Standard PC HAL.

(That was from the KBs I just referenced at the top of this post)

Hope that helps,

Simon
