hi
i am a casual gamer... by casual, i mean 1-2 AAA game per year and i am in market for a VGA GPU.

since finding a good price VGA GPU is almost a dream these days, i decided to buy a 2nd hand 1050 or 1050ti. 2nd one have 20% higher price tag...
all i want is at least 30fps and Full HD... i rather to have higher texture compare to 60fps...
so is it a good idea to get one of these cards and expect it to last untill next generation of console's?

p.s have a 12GB ram + i5 gen 4

Solution
If you want any sort of shot at decent details, you will definitely want a 1050Ti for the 4GB of VRAM so performance does not immediately implode from exceeding the VRAM size. You may also want to consider the 1650 which is ~30% faster and the 1650 Super which is ~60% faster if you can find either one for a modest price increase over whatever price you have seen the 1050Ti at.

1650 have around 60% higher price over here compare to 1050ti

i can find 1060- 3 gb for around 7-8% lower price than 1650.... which i guess do 20% better in gaming ( not sure)

i wonder if 1050 ti can do the job for this generation or not
FullHD+ at least 30 fps....
i'm not hardcore gamer so my other options are APUs from ryzen

If you don't mind having details close to lowest in today's more demanding titles, it should be possible to make 3GB workable.

I wish I had gotten a GTX1650 Super when I could get one for under $200 last year, then I could have sold my GTX1050 for double what I originally got it for. GPU prices are completely nuts right now.

yea me 2

how is 1050 (assume not ti and 2 gb) these days?

so u think 1060 3gb is better choice, right? compare to 1050 ti...
and 1050 ti wont last till the end of this generation, right?

p.s: i'm not details freak, all i care about is shadow quality , ON / even low!

i was satisfied with 1030 and last game i played was RE remake 2 and Gears 5
(and i broke the card physically)

Last time I looked, a new-in-box 1050Ti was around $300. As for how long one would last, they will last however long you wish so long as you don't mind lowering details however much is necessary to maintain playable frame rate.
