I think this is the best place to ask. I want to upgrade my storage to 1TB SSD. There are various opinions on this subject. Some say an SSD is not the right choice for a PS3 and said HDD is more suitable. Some say only Crucial brand is the right option if I want to buy an SSD. Some say DRAM is important. Does this mean that some SSDs won't last long? I am really confused. Also personally I don't prefer HDD because I think a HDD is prone to mechanical errors. Could you please recommend me the most suitable product?

I have no idea if an SSD is suitable for a PS3. I know nothing about a PS3.

But...there is nothing wrong with Crucial. Or Western Digital or Samsung.

Some models might be better suited for your purposes than others.

Any of them can fail at any time, just like your PS3 might fail. Be prepared for that.

A majority of the restomods I've seen on the PS3/PS3 Slim all drop in an SSD of sorts as well as a restomod project on a PS2 Slim, here. I would get an SSD for your PS3 Slim.

Have a read through this reddit. Where are you located and what is your budget for an SSD purchase? Preferred site for purchase?
Our currency is different, I live in Eastern Europe. All I can say I want to buy a good one. Not necessary the best one. I want to buy an SSD with DRAM just in case.
The reason is: If anyone buys an SSD without DRAM it might fail. It is unlikely in a console, but if you write too much data to that SSD it will degrade and die, slowing down before it does so.

We can suggest a good SSD but if you don't have access to it, then we'll be going back and forth with suggestions. This is why I asked these;

If you can provide links to sites where they showcase what you have access to, we'd be able to narrow down suggestions sooner than later.
