Here is my dilemma.
I don't do budget gaming builds. A friend of mine asked if I could help but I am stumped.
My friend's budget is between $720 and $730. This is what he wants or was looking at.

He is trying to play somewhat modern games like battle field, far cry 3 ect at 1920x1080 resolution.
Settings high to ultra, and also gaming high(if not high) then medium settings on games
like far cry 4, call of duty advanced warfare.

1.Cpu is either i5-4460 or the i5-4570. I know that a h81 motherborad BIOS have to
be up dated which can be a pain in the ass if using 4460 because
it is haswell refresh.. Yet i5-4570 is haswell and right out of the box working.
I don't know if the h81 would bottle neck either cpu.

So my 1st question is could anyone find a decent to good motherboard working along
with the cpu's mentioned. I heard h81 are terrible for gaming so I will leave
that to the community here.

I think the ram is fine. Sure it is 1600 at cas 10. Seriously I don't believe paying more
for a few milliseconds of speed. The only time uber ram is needed is if you are running a server.
Although, If someone finds a higher frequency ram that is less than cas 10 for the same price
or cheaper and good quality. By all means post it.

2. Other question(sort of). I know the case is 3 fans. 2 of which are said to be 3 pin(rear)
3 and 4 pin(top) I do not know what the front fan is. I don't buy gimmick cases. So if you find a
motherboard that is compatible with that case and has the hook up for the fans. Cool.
If not. Then please provide link for the correct Fan splitter cable.

I appreciate any assistance that you can provide.
Good Day.

Actually their is some truth to that. Really it comes down to you have to know your parts better and do a lot more
compating instead of getting $200 MB with $300 CPU and $300 GPU. It is not impossible though. I did this for you.

I will tell him that. Thanks a lot man for your help. I hate trying to do budget builds. Trying to stay within a price range in the high 600's or low 700's sucks.

Here is what I did. Firstly I went with the cheaper case. So your friend will not have USB 3.0 in the front, but will have USB 2.0 in the front. Frankly, the only time you see a speed increase is when moving file from say and external hard drive or USB key. If you are plugging in a mouse/keyboard/gamepad into a USB 3.0. You are not going to noticed a difference.

Secondly. I was able to go with the higher CPU although that can be changed to save money. The 4460 is good and not that much weaker than the 4570 or 4590, but I was able to get the 4590 on the build.

Third is an Asrock H97 board. Not bottle necking and no Haswell R problems. Has enough fan headers for the case. 4 ram slots. So he can add 2 more sticks for 16gb memory.

Fourth. I left that power supply. One is because it is a good company. Two that is more than enough to run the machine right now. I will use 394 watts. That leaves him room to sli and installing another 960 card will be watt 510 watt usage so he is still within range.

Hope this helps.
