Just got a Samsung 50" UHD 4K Smart TV:

Upgrading from a 26" Westinghouse LD-2655VX HDTV, which was good for me because it had analog L and R audio outputs. Not needing surround sound, I was always okay with the stereo output sent into an old analog Denon receiver and then to satellite speakers.

But the 50" Samsung does not have analog audio outputs and now I'm stuck trying to find options for audio output. It has HDMI eARC, HDMI, and optical outputs, which I have no experience using for audio.

Is there any way to still use an analog receiver with this Samsung TV given it's available outputs for sound?

What is being used for the input? Off air tuner? HDMI ONLY? Where the audio comes from is important.
The optical output can be easily converted to analog with something like this -- https://www.amazon.com/Optical-Toslink-Coaxial-Digital-Converter/dp/B01DZXWHJA/ You can probably power it via the USB ports on the TV.

Was able to get the audio going on this to the analog Denon receiver with my Bluray player by simply connecting to the TV with HDMI and then going out of the Bluray player with a Y-L-R cable (minus the Y jack) directly to the Denon receiver. Works fine for stereo.

BTW this TV also has speakers which don't sound too bad, but my external satellites sound much better.

Now just need to configure how to use a second HDMI port on the TV to connect to my PC video card for streaming media.

And that Optical SPDIF Toslink/Coaxial Digital to Analog Audio Decoder Converter might be good to go out of the TV optical output and then convert to analog. for my receiver. I don't really watch TV so don't know if I'll need it.

So, first mistake I made is thinking I needed to go out of the TV to get external sound, but I could go out of my Bluray player right to the Denon receiver and it was still analog stereo audio.
