Crucial Ballistix 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory & gigabyte AORUS B450M

im currently running a 2933mhz i was at 3200mhz but found it more stable at 29.33
with 1.35v the current timings are 16-19-19-42 these are the default untouched

were should i start in adjusting i dont use xmp as it made the pc at
boot an main desktop load hang up more about 12sec extra at boot an 7 at desktop load after sign in
on pop os 21.04

without xmp it didnt hang up but the could be from not the best timings
note xmp hang up was same at 3200 also

so any help on this would help ?

You have a Ryzen system. I'd suggest downloading dram calculator and typhoon burner. (use TB to pull your stock numbers then paste to DRC)

You've only mentioned the first 4 out of the 5 Primary timings, but totally ignored the 40ish Secondary and Tertiary timings. That's where DRC and TB come in. Run those and you'll get to see what you can change, and by how much. No guarantees on any of those specific numbers, you'll need to adjust as you go, keeping some, changing others, but they do show what's capable.

That and go into Amd Overclocking menu and manually set your fclock for 1466 or 1600 (2933 or 3200MHz ram setting). Auto setting isn't all that good.

So you have 2 different sets of ram and your trying to find the best/max settings they will play nice together.

I might start with the proper bios and chipset driver and then see what xmp thought of that.
