I will be upgrading my motherboard and cpu should i go intel or amd i want it to last 2- 3 years play games on high with my gtx 780 my cpu limit is 210$ and my motherboard limit is 110$

Solution
the i5 is better than 8350 in overall preformance the i5 utilize single core better than amd and overall core performance but as he said above mantle could improve that equation but i'm not sure since we didn't see mantle in real world performance after all it's up to you but i would go with I5 and prices is too close to each others so yeah i5 it's
if you are playing games and having fun then save your money until upcoming game need it by the time something better is released but i doubt it bottleneck you now unless you are playing CPU games , don't spend because it's just better ..spend when you need it !!!

i haven't been able to see benchmark of the FX6300 with watchdogs and requirements sometimes exaggerated , so anyway play the game and see for your own eyes if it will hold your back before spending any cash , yes i hear people are saying 8 core with amd with watch dogs but that's just opinions based on requirements and not real world benchmark

are you already have the fx6800 or you don't? if you don't then go with i5 it's more superior anyway as i said without real benchmark i can't say it will bottleneck but in worst case scenario will play high setting but i think ubi are went far way for requirement ( they just hit max rig for nowadays technologies ) not to mention their bad optimization so i guess you won't be able to play it on ultra with ubi involved but in general situation in the real next gen gaming intel will be far better choice so even if you run a game now with cool settings you will probably end up upgrading within next year that's why i told you if you play games good then wait for the end of the year cpu which gonna be haswell refresh in the end of 2014 so you would have the most recent technology and 780 will probably stay 3-4 years as long you playing on 1080p

What ever your upgrade, everyone seems to leave out the need for a New copy of Windows 7 / 8.... (so add in $100 to $150)

If you swap out CPU & Motherboard, ya can't reuse your existing copy of the operating system.... Microsoft's licensing won't allow it (keyed to those components..)

BTW, just to prove to yourself how little (or much) a CPU will impact gaming FPS (when you have a GTX780 !!!)
- UNder clock your current CPU to say 3Ghz
- then try 2Ghz

Run your game bench marks and not the FPS change, IF any......

That is not true. I swapped out my CPU and motherboard and windows booted up with no problems at all. If you're going from Intel to Intel then you might not need to get a new OS

If you have a full retail version of Window 7, you Can re-use it...

If you have an OEM version, like Dell, HP, Gateway, it's keyed to their hardware and can't be re-used....

If you have a OEM/Builders version of the OS, it will not allow you to use it on a new motherboard
- I have tired this, twice, going Intel to Intel
- In one case ONLY changed the motherboard to a "very slightly different" ASUS motherboard
- call Microsoft and they confirm while you can boot-n-load, you can not register re-use the copy on the new board
