is it an r540ub or r540ubr? there are two model on here - https://www.asus.com/in/Laptops/R540UB/HelpDesk_Download/

can you download and run a program called driverview - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/driverview.html
all it does is looks at drivers installed.
if you run it, can you go into view tab and set it to hide all MIcrosoft drivers, will make list shorter.
can you take a screenshot starting from Driver name and ending on Creation date - upload it to an image sharing website and show link here.

I will compare what is installed against the Asus website, and see if I can find any new drivers.

you got most of it, it is just a shame most don't have dates anyway.

Asus wireless radio driver - the version you have installed is newer than whats on Asus site, tricky. you have 10.0.0.12, newest on site is 10.0.0.8 - not a problem, just curious.

newer version of wifii driver - https://support.killernetworking.com/download/killer-drivers-installation-64bit/ (probably)
update ATK package, yours is from 2015, neweest on website is 2019 - https://www.asus.com/in/Laptops/R540UB/HelpDesk_Download/
update BT driver, newer one on link above (this may be included in killer drives)

latest sound drivers - version 6.0.8791.1 - download from here, the 2nd post under the info post - https://www.tenforums.com/sound-audio/135259-latest-realtek-hd-audio-driver-version-2-a.html

why do you have McAphee installed as well as Avast? having 2 AV can cause problems, they can see each other as threats.

Qualcomm originally made KIller and in the last 7 years the people who made the software for the hardware have been split into their own company who makes drivers for the hardware still - https://www.qualcomm.com/news/relea...iller-wireless-n-1202-wi-fi-module-and-killer

https://hothardware.com/reviews/rivet-networks-qa-from-the-bigfoot-killer-nic-to-qualcomm-and-back

it could just be old drivers, I would upgrade them and if you still get problem, take it back. It isn't a problem I would replace laptop over, I would try a few things first (even going as far as reinstalling windows to see if that fixes it).

okay, so updating drivers isn't answer...

does the wifi adapter show in device manager when this happens? just wondering if its just losing the router, and not that its missing the actual device? one answer to that is restart both laptop and router to re establish a link. '

can it happen anytime or perhaps only when laptop is moved?

Check this https://streamable.com/vl4x9 Yes when this happend i see it in device manager. It happend a lot when i'm not close to the router and for some reason my chrome keep freezing it's just weird.. If you have anything that you can suggest to do i appreciate or i just reinstall windows and if i keep getting the same problem just go to where i bought it from since i still have a warranty?

What router do you have?

I might move thread into laptop tech support area as A) someone there might know answer and B) I am not sure this is a windows problem.

It makes no sense the adapter stops working if you further from router, it should just lose connection if its a range issue.

if updating your drivers for your wireless card, also get all your windows updates, if this does not do the trick try reseating the wireless card in the computer. Card may also be faulty, you may want to swap out/change your wifi card or try usb wifi adapter, some have extended range.
