After the hassle I've had with Easy CD Creator and DirectCD, I feel Roxio should extract their digit from wherever they've stuck it and do something about this software. I thought Windows was bug-ridden, but Easy CD takes the biscuit. You only have to look at their own discussion boards to see how many people have problems.

there is a flawless sure shot remedy for all of the Roxio problems .. see below............

Nero and CloneCD make a perfect combination.

thats the config I use Arrow .. absolutely does it all for me .. ( for those in USA, change region to Canada in control panel to enable "Amplify weak sectors" in CloneCd

I've used Roxio since it was still called Adaptec, and I've never had any problems with the software. I also use CloneCD as my CD copier of choice since nothing else seems to work so well with my Plextor SCSI drives. 😎

If you design software that is fool-proof, only a fool will want to use it.

I also used Adaptec (Roxio) for several years. I bought Roxio 5 Easy CD Creator Platinum. Then I tried Nero demo after
reading about it here in the THGC forums. I bought Nero and now prefer it over Roxio. I agree with you on Clone CD and use
it also.

I have used CD Creator since version 3 and never was very happy. Version 5 is the most incompatable with anything of the whole bunch. I did get some help with 4.0 from Adaptec but since it was split off they are useless. Even the guy who monitored thier support forum left and is part of another forum that was started independantly.

The MP3 decoder is lousy and 1/2 my songs record as incomplete when burned. I can't make mix CD without converting all songs to MP3 then burning disk at once 4x (8x fails every time). When I burn from CDs the program gets confused and ejects the wrong drive all the time.

I never tried NERO but maybe I should.

Where ever you go, there you are.

I really don't think Roxio could extract that digit. That is what is keeping them on their chair. I have used Adaptec when it was still called that and it worked ok. But I have to agree with everyone here that Nero is the way to go.

Doh!!! Did I do that??

Thanks. I really have until the 3rd to pay so I think I'll procrastinate.

I used to mess around with CloneCD, but I had a few problems ripping with my Pioneer drive, which doesn't always read subchannel data all that well. But ... I switched to the BlindWrite suite, and since then, I've managed to liberate several copies of previously unrippable disks, with excellent results. So far, in my search for the best CD copier, this program is head-&-shoulders over the rest.

Just thought I'd throw that out there, as general all-purpose information.

I know CloneCD is very popular but I must agree with you on BlindWrite. It has made backup copies of
several of my CD's that cloneCD would not.
