TBH if you only wanna go 1440P then only buy a 1440P monitor no?

SSD wise 850 EVO slightly edges the Crucial one... Worth it anyway.

The PSU I still recommend an XFX XTR psu if you can buy/afford one.

A modular PSU allows you to install only those power cables that you actually need and therefore you can keep the wiring much tidier and there are less cables to restrict airflow inside the case. The only captive cable on a modular PSU is the main one which connects to the motherboard (because this one is always required).

With a non-modular PSU, none of the cables can be detached from the unit. They are all permanently connected to it, including the ones you don't need, so having several spare cables and connectors just hanging about looks untidy and they may get it in the way when you're trying to install some hardware.

A non-modular unit offers no advantages over a modular one (at least not that I can think of).

Modular is the way to go these days.

If you want a brand recommendation (quality & reliability): Seasonic, Corsair or Antec.

I would also add EVGA to that list. They make some of the best power supplies on the market.
