I updated the rig but...

Anyway, I was thinking of having the MSI z97 Gaming 5 instead of the Asus' z97a.

Is there any difference at all? To be honest, I was kinda looking for the red-black scheme and found out that the Asus z97a isn't a black-red mobo so I thought of having the MSI z97 Gaming 5 instead.

What's your thought? :3

try the asus z97 pro gamer it's exactly black and red (with red led borders too) or go with the MSI. I prefer Asus UEFI though

In what instances? Sorry don't know much about mobos. Thx.

so here's your choices, remember some are alot pricey'er than others but you're not going to get too much performance benefit, just slightly better analogue audio and some overclocking features... Maybe a 3 fps gain!

These are all the best red & black value for money boards IMO

God, FINALLY. I've made up my mind and will stick with the ASUS' Z97-A.

Sorry for being choosy and eyecandy sh*t. Lol.

Now, I've realized that should I get a cooler or something? You know, for the CPU. Also, got some extra bucks left in here... Is adding a lighting solution to my build is compatible? (Atleast the CPU will be like christmas day!) LOL.

UPDATE:

A have a friend that had a thought of my build and said that why not go gtx 970 and SLI later on instead of having gx 980 (which is not really good because you know, it's pricey and you pay extra for such a small performance/fps boost or something).

So I've thought of this over and over and he's got a point.

Now if I ever follow his advice, will my current build right now can handle SLI at 1440p gaming? (Such as the mobo, psu, casing, and etc.) Im certain that my processor can handle SLI.

- So what do you guys think about this? (For me, I'm kinda convinced by his advice, God, there's too much future proofing inside of me.)

Thanks to all that helped from the start, I really appreciate your assistance guys, REALLY.

Soooo, This is your final build?

From my first post the change that will be made is 980 down to 970, that's it. After a months adding another 970 with same components and stuffs so that'll be my final build (future upgrade).

OT.

Do you guys have any recommendation on a good red lighting solutions?

Even though my mobo is gold-ish of some sort, I might as well get a red cooler but don't know much about who has a red led?

So... I'll leave this to you guys.

Thanks!

Just go on amazon and buy one of those $40 RGB 5 m lighting things... They come with an external controller and stay alight when your compute r is off :)

Bro, xmas lights is cheaper than that. Haha! JK. Will check this out soon.

What about the CPU Cooler (RED LED)?

haha! Put a tree in there while you're at it?😉

They're all great though.. From being in the UK I know they're £30 whic correlates to $45USD but I know electronics is stupidly cheap over there so expect them for $25

I see. But thanks! 😛

There's a change of pace in my build tho.

Switch from 980 to 970 then SLI later on adding another 970. The extra $ that I'll be paying for a 980 it seems not that worth it, though for some ppl it will be. IMO, probably not. Besides I chose to play @ 1440p I know 970 can handle it decently, right? Maybe I'll go 4K when the price drops down.

yes, besides 1440P is perfect, im personally running 4K and everything is too small for me though detail is impeccable.

None the less, you may have to have certain games in 1080P at the begging if you want Max settings at 60+ fps. I'd also highly advise getting an IPS monitor, though TN show great colours, IPS destroys viewing angles and almost everything IMO.

Personally what I use however I think there's an IPS version for around $150 more!

Just a little update about the rig...

I ditched the TP-LINK's PCI Wireless Adapter that takes a slot in the mobo. So I decided to get a WiFi USB Adapter 3.0 (Don't know which one to get as of now) instead. So I can get a better mobo which is the Asus' VII Ranger.

I replaced the CM V8 Cooler (I love how it looked but gotta drop it for the perfomance) too with the Hyper EVO 212. (Because I know I won't overclock that much like every other hard-oc'ers do.)

How do you feel about this? :3

Hello mate, Zircoben convinced me to get a Crucial instead of Samsung's. He said that Samsung SSDs dies within 6 months of use and so. I've had the M3 1TB Portable, I had it for years and now can't believe that it still works BUT it has many bad sectors to it.

I respect your opinion, this might be too much but can you give me useful links regarding your petition? So I can review over and over. Thank you.

It's too expensive here. I can take off the extra $ that I pay off with the Intel's SSD to a GTX 980. It's price is truly misleading.

However, I'm still pretty confused which SSD to get, maybe I'll have my choice tomorrow. It's no big deal though.

Btw, mate, what do you think of my replacements? :3
