i want to get an OLED (prob sony) however my last LG OLED TV got image burn-in (LG OLED65C8PUA) from my PS5 and now i'm kinda skeptical at getting another OLED even though they are the best TV to get...

The TV will be in a pitch black room and i watch a lot of 4k movies as well as gaming on PS5 in 4k.

What should i do?

If you're going with Sony a mini-led would probably be better since there's no burn in.

I've had my LG OLED TV since 2014. I live in a country where most programs have subtitles, and the only burn in I can see is a slight yellowish tint where the subtitles are, when watching a scene with almost only sunlit snow. IMO the burn in rumors are slightly over exaggerated, but as always your mileage may vary.

yeah i was thinking of getting the bravia 7 however it has this problem a few reviews claim that Slow pixel transitions in Game Mode leads to blurry motion. an OLED wouldn't have this problem but than i'm back to the original question on burn in...

@bladexdsl ,

In response to your OLED burn in question, this is what LG has to say: https://www.lg.com/us/experience-tvs/oled-tv/reliability.

A Google search of "OLED screen burn in" produces a lot of results for multiple makes of OLED televisions, and some "independent" results as well. Your current LG OLED television is a 2018 model. One would assume that the burn in issues have probably been mitigated in the intervening years . . .

From what I read, if you are careful not to leave static images on the screen for prolonged periods of time, it should not be a significant concern, if the TV is used "responsibly", to quote LG.

Good luck, and have a great day.

Regards,
Phil

you can't help but not have static images on screen in games especially rpg the health bars are always present. that's what gave my current tv image burn

the tv also has them burn in protection screen shift and logo reducer but none of that helped.

I'm probably just going to have to get the bravia 7 and put up with it's blurry motion...
