There are no new mini PC's on Amazon, or anywhere else, for 150 to 250 dollars. They don't exist. NUCs and similar hardware are actually rather expensive unless you are looking at very old new old stock or something older but used. Anything newer, you'll likely pay more than you would for just building a decent PC. When it comes to computers, smaller does not equal cheaper, it equals more expensive.

so
is this a good choice?
https://www.amazon.com/Intel-N5105-Computers-Portable-Education/dp/B0BTHYN3V2
it will cost me about 350 USD with all the taxes and discount coupon..

if it's ok i will just have to see the voltage of the power supply.....
Actually, the N95 Alder lake model that Mandark linked to is newer, and a better option, than that. Plus, it's also cheaper. It does come with a smaller SSD though. And I have to admit, these Beelink units are less expensive than I remember them being and certainly less expensive than most of the brands I've looked at recently. I might actually consider one of those for a project I have been thinking about to be honest seeing as they are that cheap.

I'm sure I must have seen these before so I'm not sure why I forgot about them. When asked about mini PCs I'm more accustomed to seeing things that are inline with OnLogic, Intel NUC and a few others.

I will say though, that for ME, I'm not sure I'd go with one of the N series or Celeron models regardless that it's Alder lake because it's performance lags significantly behind even something like a 10th Gen i3-10300 by a long shot. I'd want something with at least an Alder lake i3 or i5 even for this type of system. That i5-1235U has MUCH better performance, like almost as good as the i3-12300 desktop part and nearly three times the performance of that N95. Especially for anything that is multithreaded. That N95 will really suffer if you want to do more than one or two things at once.

Should also be aware though that even that N95 has a fan in it and the i5 version has two, so if you want something fanless, these are not going to be the right product for you.

Beelink has been discussed here before.
Several of us have them, incl me.

Mine was outside the stated price range, but they do have some under $250.

The real question is - What does the OP want to do with it?

See, yeah, you and COL. I knew I had seen them before but they completely slipped my mind. Not surprising, because my mind HAS slipped a bit lately. LOL.

And yes, knowing what the use case is would certainly be beneficial, and I probably should have asked that right off the bat so good thing you chimed in to correct my lack of adequate informational request-age. :)

just surfing the net and some occasional minor image editing. all of that using linux mint.

i liked the nuc option because of its security and name rather than buying a chinese brand.
i bought some mini pc from amazon and returned it because it had a faulty picture that flickered so much.

Well, since two of our veteran members have bought these Beelink products before, and Mandark, another long time member has as well, and all of them recommend them and have not had problems with them, I'd say they are likely a pretty safe bet. As far as whether to buy locally or not due to warranty concerns, that is something I cannot answer for you. You'll have to make that decision on your own.
