I want to build a pc and an opportunity came up where i can build it in a April.
i have been prepping my build for a while, but when i say i chose amd over intel because cost my friends start telling me how good intel is and why i should change to it. i have everything ready in my amazon basket that i can order them when its April. but now that i have done some research intel seems to be better for gaming (which is what ill be using the pc for). i downgraded the gpu from a 1070 to a 1060 and changed the mother board on pc part picker.

the amd setup https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/2tcGgw

the intel setup https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/dJB77W

tell me which one is better and if you like change them for it to be better.
if you want to change the items my budget is 1100 euros.
by the way this is my first build and will be guided by a professional while building. all my knowledge is from linus tech tips and other pc building or pc discussion yt channels.

tell me if you can make it better or cheaper but still good. or if one is really good. i am pretty nervous on using 1 thousand for a pc thats not good.

Solution

i plan on playing some games and watching videos. some of the games i play need a fair bit of computing power to work properly. if you could choose for me it would be much appreciated.

i know its more expensive, but i think an amd with a 1070 would be better than an i7 with a 1060.
but i dont know that much about computers. thats why i am making this post

Both builds you posted have a GTX 1070. Yes, a 2600 with a 1070 will perform better than an 8700k with a 1060 in nearly every case.

Here's an example build:

i thought i changed the 1070 to a 1060. sorry for the confusion. btw is that build good and should i try to get it?
i really dont know almost anything about pc's so i dont know how good that build is

@DavidM012 the average difference in gaming performance is going to be a lot less than the difference in synthetic CPU benchmarks. Also, an moving from a 2600 to an OC'd 8700K easily adds 30+% to his budget. Even an 8700 (non OC obviously) adds ~15%.

so what you are saying is i should get ryzen build?
i don't really understand that much about pcs. just if you could say simply intel or amd build.
reply to this with intel or amd for the one you think i should get.

i think i wont overclock because i tried to do it on my 750 ti and my overwatch crashed because of it. and also when i was overclocking it i wasn't saving it so when everything was on max and i opened the gpu stresser and it crashed my computer.

i am firm on not overclocking at all or changing my budget. i think my pc is ok from the changes to ram and people saying amd is good option. only thing i can change is maybe the cooler from the stock to something else.

i am able to change the cooler but for some reason dont want to change off of amd.
and i cant get water cooling because i will build the pc while with a professional pc builder thats a close friend, but i have to go to finland because he lives there and he doesnt have that much money to travel just to watch over someone build a pc. have the pc shipped and it will take 1 to 2 days in shipping

i understand that. this is my first build so if something goes wrong when building it isnt that bunch for anything but the gpu.
this is just a little upgrade from my current pc. and i do just want to play some games with over 200fps again like csgo, overwatch and more games i used to have at 300fps.

i just want to get over 150 fps not something higher or lower. i dont want to spend a lot on my first pc because it can fail and the parts may die if i do something wrong so it would be more of a loss with intel. aster a few builds or upgrades i will turn to intel.

David seems to be misleading you

Intel is not a good platform to buy into right now, it doesn’t give enough performance to warrant its price, it’s in constant flux because they never expected AMD to be this competitive again and you’re likely to be investing in a dead socket whereas Zen2 is coming to AM4 in summer and is looking to wipe away intels IPC and clock advantage for a lower cost. Leaks are the 8c/16t Zen2 CPU is faster per core than the 9900K

i just want to get over 150 fps not something higher or lower.
@Jesse.m.niemi why are you concerned about getting 150+ fps when you only have a 60 Hz monitor? Regardless, a 2600 should be fine for getting at least 150 fps in the sort of games you mentioned (csgo, overwatch).

@DavidM012 as I pointed out earlier, there kind of builds you're proposing cost more than an extra 10%. And it sounds like based on the OP's use case there'd be no appreciable difference in performance.

Just to be sure it wasnt lost in the posts, you do know the intel build only has a 1060 compared to the 1070 on the AMD build?

Save your money and go with AMD with a good x470 motherboard. Upgrade to 7nm Zen 2 in a few months. Zen 2 will literally make i9 9900K obsolete. The Radeon are also way better price/ performance wise.
