I want to upgrade my CPU for the new Call of Duty.

6700k $300 US new or flash bios for an $350 new 7700k. Wouldn't want second hand.

Or spend roughly same amount on a Msi x470 gaming plus with 3600x cpu.

Decent upgrades for that board are expensive. You can buy a newer 6 core I5 or preferably 6 core ryzen 5 + mobo for the same money as the 4 core i7 upgrades.

With 3000mhz memory I wouldn't even consider upgrading to a i7. Get a R5 & B450 board and even if the price as the same as a i7 your on a platform that is coming out with one more generation before AMD moves onto a different socket.
