[SOLVED] I want to upgrage my CPU

Here are the details of toshiba satelite c655-s5212

1. Processor : Intel Core i3-2310M (PGA) CPU
2. Motherboard : Intel_(chipsets) HM65 Express (TDP - 35W)
3. Ram : DDR3 1333Mhz (1GB + 2GB)

So till now what i have found the data on HM65 motherboards that we can use some of 2nd-gen i3/i5/i7 processors. But i don't know much about sockets but the all HM65 supported processors are compatible with Socket G2 / rPGA988B socket.

Intel Core i3-2310M (PGA) CPU is maximum capable for 1333Mhz ram speed and i want to upgrade my CPU so that i can upgrade my ram speed atleast 1600Mhz.

can you please comment on this ?

You could look into an i7-2670+QM but your processor in the laptop at the time of writing is a 35W TDP part, meaning that you might want to stick within that envelope due to cooling concerns. I'd safely recommend an i7-2620M.

But what about other processors listed in Intel_(chipsets) HM65 Express which is having 4 cores and 8 threads and still 35W TDP, for example Intel Core i7-3612QE CPU .

Can i use these ones.
