I3-4160 Haswell vs I3-6100 Skylake

How much a improvment do you think the Skylake will be?
I was planning to get a 4170 but this new 6100 sounds very tempting...what do you guys think?

i3 4160 is a Haswell
for 1 thing. the skylake one is .1 ghz faster.

Well yes, but the 14nm vs 22(i think) and extra L3 Cache, are they worth it?How much of a improvment will this be?

If it following the i7/i5, not much if you are getting a dedicated gpu.
they have the same l3 cache.

The Intel i3-6100 doesn't have 6 virtual cores; it has 2 cores plus hyperthreading.

Game debate is the most worthless website along with cpu and gpu boss.

A skylake i3 would perform around 5-10% better than a haswell i3 in any application or game, with i3s outperforming any amd fx in any game.

Synthetic benchmarks dont accurately indicate performance. Like i said above, you would get around a 5-10% increase with skylake.

He got confused with the I3-6100 and the AMD FX 6100.
