Hi,

Today i swapped my 12600kf for the 13600kf, so same socket, same cooler, same mobo.

I noticed some leanway on the new CPU when installing the cooler, (bequiet Dark rock 4). No matter how much i tighten the screws, the cooler seems to have 2-3mm of wiggle room, like it slides left and right 2-3mm.
I tried putting back the 12600kf cpu, and the cooler sits perfectly, while with the 13600kf the wiggle room appears.

The mobo is MSI MAG Z690 Tomahawk ddr4 wifi.

Anyone have any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks

Then try and boot to OS, see what your temps are like. CoolerMaster hyper 212's used to do this with the older generation processors. So long as you don't have any vertical play(meaning the cooler isn't fully seated on the IHS) then you should be fine. I'd also double check on the mounts before firing the system up. Some people have managed to cross thread screws and damaged the mounting mechanism.

The mounts seems to be ok, I tried to take it off and on a few times but It's always the same. I tried playing the new MW2, as I've been playing it with the older cpu, where i got a steady 70 degrees midgame, while with the new cpu its at 80, spiking sometimes to 90, that's what has me worried.
