Hey, how's it going?

I need some help/advice on build a i5 gaming rig.
I want to keep it below $1500 with tax.(8.75%, I live in California)

1. Is SLI/CrossfireX stable because I read stuff about how it has screen tearing and micro-stuttering.

2. I like to buy offline, like Fry's, so is there any good advantages with it?

3. What do you think about my parts?(Think you can add some value)

Asus Sabertooth P67 ($205)

Intel Core i5 2500K Boxed Processor 2nd Generation Sandy Bridge CPU ($215)

CPU Fan:
Corsair Hydro Series H60 ($60)

Video Card:
EVGA GTX 580 ($460)
2x EVGA GTX 560 ($420)

Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Dual Channel ($80)

Hard Drive:SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 ($60)

Optical Drive:

Coolermaster Storm Scout ($80)

Power Supply:
CORSAIR Gaming Series GS800 CMPSU-800G 800W ATX SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Power Supply ($120)

Addition Fans:
Cooler Master 120mm Fan ($10)

Total: Around $1435.50 (with tax)

I agree with Adrian that you should buy one card at first and then add another later, just buy one good card to start.

Also, this case uses a power supply at the bottom of the case. Make sure your case is elevated off the floor, at...

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-560-amp-edition-gtx-560-directcu-ii-top,2944.html <----- you want the ti gtx 560, not just the 560 which is a total different card.

I would only buy ram & cpu combo that why_me posted and the psu- the one why_me posted from newegg since they are such great deals

i would buy the cpu cooler from frys too since it is cheaper

to make it easier for the op to find here is the dvd burner- http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B003MRHOQG/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new get the one from amazon

get this motherboard- http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Intel-Express-Motherboards-GA-Z68X-UD4-B3/dp/B004ZQ6F7C/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1312517089&sr=1-1 save even more because there is no taxes this motherboard will go out of stock because it is priced about 20$ less for a new one that has 1 more feature that gamers will not use

you can get that evga gtx 560 ti for the same price at amazon

here is a evga gtx 560 ti ds- http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Superclocked-PCI-Express-Graphics-01G-P3-1567-KR/dp/B004XUCCRM/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1312517172&sr=1-3 it is cheaper than the twin frozr II at newegg because there is no taxes. it is clocked higher by about 80mhz and has comparable cooling

there is also this card which is pretty awesome it is faster than the gtx 580 (not as fast as 2 560 ti's) but you cant sli it in the future- http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-PCI-Express-Graphics-02G-P3-1387-KR/dp/B004SU8AUU/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1312517901&sr=1-1

you may want a nicer case- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147107&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-Cases+(Computer+Cases+-+ATX+Form)-_-Rosewill-_-11147107 108$ after taxes (im from ca too)

or a little pricier- http://www.amazon.com/SILVERSTONE-RV02B-W-Steel-Tower-Computer/dp/B002M78KZG/ref=sr_1_20?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1312518210&sr=1-20

http://articles.latimes.com/2011/jun/30/business/la-fi-amazon-tax-20110630 <----- California passed a new tax law for Amazon that's already in affect....so they pay taxes on all Amazon items now.

i knew that it was passed.....i just bought books from amazon (with school starting again ughh), no taxes. they havent started enforcing it yet obviously. when they do amazon says they will stop selling to california because that is what gives them an advantage in sales.
edit: just bought something from amazon (the vendor) no taxes.

you posted this twice close the other one...

Just a couple of comments:
1) Make sure if you get the 560 cards, its the 560Ti not just the 560.
2) I agree with the first post, if you can stretch for a single 570, go for that. It will still run all current games on maxed settings. And will allow for another to be added in SLI in the future for even better performance.

Generally if your making a new build, its best not to buy SLI straight away but buy a single card, leaving headroom for an improved build when required a year or 2 down the line.

I agree with Adrian that you should buy one card at first and then add another later, just buy one good card to start.

Also, this case uses a power supply at the bottom of the case. Make sure your case is elevated off the floor, at least 1" inch, especially if it is on carpet!!!!
You can put some wooden blocks or whatever under the case, this will keep your PSU from overheating.
